When we were dreaming of quitting our jobs and traveling the world, we searched everywhere for inspiration. We were searching for couples who look like us living a life of adventure and travel. After a lot of research, we gathered our favorite black travel couples here – in no particular order. I hope that this list shows you that you are not alone and that your travel dreams are possible. These couples are proof!
The Baileys Go
Shameless plug! The first black travel couple you should follow is us @thebaileysgo! We’re Mel and Kyle. At the end of 2019, we quit our corporate jobs and embarked on a travel year around the world. We began our trip around the world in South America. As of January 2002, we are making our way through Argentina. Prior to this trip, we’ve traveled to 12+ countries. Indefinite Honeymoon
Amirah and Jerrell are on an indefinite honeymoon! Soon after they eloped in Las Vegas, Nevada US in 2013, they started traveling and havent stopped. They have mastered the digital nomad lifestyle. Amirah is a romance writer and Jerrell is an artist. Together they run several businesses that they can operate anywhere across the globe – as long as they have WiFi. They currently live in Bali, Indonesia.
Dip Your Toes In
Eulanda and Omo are the creative duo behind Hey! Dip Your Toes In. Eulanda is a travel writer who manages there blog and social media accounts and Omo manages IT risks for his clients. They are currently based in London.Â
The City Beyond
Kamau and Selena of The City and Beyond are newly weds based out of New York/ New Jersey. Through their Youtube channel they encourage “9-5ers” to travel the world and optimize PTO. Â They showcase tools to make the most of your time.Â
Two Adults No Kids
Kevin and Lashon Hill of Two Adults No Kids are “pre-empty nesters” who are traveling together since they kids are older. They are using this time to travel and spend more time together as their youngest soon goes off to college. Kevin is an Emmy-award-winning videographer and Lashon is an award-winning writer and content strategist.Â
Two Carry-ons
As the name suggests K and P of Two Carry Ons, love to travel with their two carry ons. These college sweethearts started traveling in 2011 and have no plans of stopping anytime soon. They maximize their adventures while working 9-5 careers.Â
That Couple who Travels
LJ and MJ are THAT couple who travels! They even met on a plane. Their gorgeous instagram feed showcases destinations ranging from Nairobi to NYC to Sydney. Their blog is launching soon and we can’t wait!
